All the vocal track laying is finished and the mic returned to its owner (thanks so much Jokate!). Almost ready to start mixing.
December 2011
I'm going to start a little diary about the work on my new album.
I did most of the tracklaying in the summer (in the midnight-blue satin-lined vocal booth we built on my birthday, with bowls of strawberries aplenty for clarity of voice).

Since then (interrupted slightly by the festival season and the Boss Looping Championship) I've added and layered real and virtual instruments that aren't part of the live set, to give the songs more of a studio feel. I've used Native Instruments (Kontakt), my bass and an adored vintage synth (Korg MS10).
As well as the usual suspects of guitar, autoharp, Yamaha PSS30 keyboard, thumb piano and glocks which form my little band in a box. But not the looper - I decided to borrow a good mic and do each little bit of vocal separately for better quality. A loop-free loop album.
Next step to try and involve other people at the production stage (my last EP was called Sea of Me, if that gives you an idea of how Suzy-saturated it might or might not have been).
